Many students want to study abroad but think it costs too much. The University of Warsaw has a plan that can help. Its Erasmus+ KA171 summer semester 2027 call gives students 700 euros every month plus travel support. But there is a catch. The deadline is very close.
This guide explains who can apply and which countries are open. It also shows what you must do first. You may also apply for Erasmus Mundus MESPOM Scholarship 2027 | Fully Funded

Who This Opportunity Is For
This is not a scholarship for everyone in the world. It is an outgoing exchange program. That means it is only for people who already study at the University of Warsaw.
You can apply if you are one of these:
- A student at the University of Warsaw
- A doctoral candidate at the University of Warsaw
Each destination has its own selection rules. So read the rules for the country you want.
If you study at another university this call does not give you a way into Warsaw or its partner schools. International students who already study at Warsaw should check with BWZ to confirm they are allowed to apply. BWZ is the international exchange office at the University of Warsaw.
What You Are Actually Applying For
This is partial studies abroad. You study at a partner university for the summer semester of 2026 to 2027. Then you come back to Warsaw. It is not a new full degree.
Here is what you get:
- 700 euros every month as a scholarship
- Extra travel funding to help with your trip
Which Countries Are Open Right Now
Four destinations are still open. The deadline for all four is 15 October 2026 at 16:00 Warsaw time.
- Albania
- Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Montenegro
- Indonesia
Mexico is also on the list but its deadline already passed on 1 October 2026. It was only for doctoral candidates.
Here is something important. An older notice for the winter semester listed eight universities. That list included Canada, South Korea, New Zealand and the USA. Do not use that old list. Those places are not part of this summer semester call.
What To Check For Each Country
Each destination needs a different kind of check before you apply:
- For Albania, check the available host university and see if your course fits
- For Bosnia and Herzegovina, confirm your study level and the language rules
- For Montenegro, ask your coordinator if your studies will be recognized back in Warsaw
- For Indonesia, check the host rules and the dates of the semester
Start with academic fit and teaching language. If your courses do not match your home degree, the trip may not count toward your studies.
Will 700 Euros a Month Be Enough
This is a question you must answer before you apply. The public notice confirms the monthly money and the travel support. It does not say every cost is covered.
So you should compare these costs against your grant:
- Housing
- Food
- Insurance
- Visa costs
Also ask BWZ these questions before you make any plans:
- How many months will the grant pay for
- How much is the travel allowance
- When will payments arrive
- Are there any tuition rules for the host school
Do not book flights or pay deposits until you have clear answers.
English Rules And Fees
The notice does not give one fixed English score for everyone. It also does not say if there is an application fee. So you cannot assume anything here.
Language rules depend on the host university you choose. Check their website or ask your Erasmus coordinator. For the fee, ask BWZ directly.
Key Dates
- Next deadline is 15 October 2026 at 16:00 Warsaw time
- Mexico deadline was 1 October 2026 and has passed
- Official information was last checked on 8 October 2026
Host university papers may have their own later deadlines. Ask BWZ about those separately.
How To Apply (Step By Step)
Start with the current KA171 call papers. Then confirm the right way to submit with BWZ.
- Read the current official announcement for the summer semester
- Get the KA171 call rules and the application forms. If the link does not work ask BWZ to send you the file
- Talk to your Erasmus coordinator. Confirm the host university and the right subjects. Also confirm your study level and the language proof you need
- Use the documents named in this call. Do not use an old checklist
- Contact Sybilla Marinković at sybilla.marinkovic@adm.uw.edu.pl for help. Ask about the submission address and any fee. Ask for the full document list too
- An earlier round used the address erasmusbwz@uw.edu.pl. Check with BWZ if this round uses the same one
- Submit your application before the deadline
- If you are chosen follow the steps for nomination and host acceptance. You must also sign a grant agreement before you plan your travel
Why You Should Act This Week
Time is short. You need to read the call papers. You need to talk to your coordinator. You need to check if your courses match. You also need to collect documents. All of this takes more than one day.
If you wait, you may miss the chance. The next intake may not offer the same countries.
The Bottom Line
The University of Warsaw Erasmus+ KA171 summer semester 2027 exchange is a real chance for current Warsaw students to study abroad with financial support. It gives you 700 euros a month and travel funding. Four destinations are open until 15 October 2026 at 16:00.
Your first step today is simple. Check if one of the partner universities fits your studies. Then contact BWZ and your Erasmus coordinator right away.
