Cameras, medical scans, AR headsets and video streaming all depend on one skill: teaching machines to understand images.
The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Imaging (IMAGING) trains students in exactly that. It is a two-year, 120-credit master’s degree that blends image and video processing with machine learning and deep neural networks. Students move between European universities, and scholarship holders receive a tuition waiver plus a monthly living allowance.
Applications for the Erasmus Mundus Imaging Scholarship 2027 are open from 23 November 2026. Only about 15 Erasmus+ scholarships are available per intake, so preparation matters.

Eligibility Requirements
This is a technical programme. Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in information and communication technologies, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
Your transcript also needs enough mathematics and programming credits. The programme sets a minimum number of ECTS in those subjects, so compare your transcript against the official requirement before you invest time in the application.
A Note on English Requirements
Many readers of this site look for programmes that skip IELTS, so this part deserves care.
The published requirements give examples of accepted proof: TOEFL iBT 78 or IELTS Academic 6.0. Proof of English proficiency is also on the required documents list. Do not assume it can be skipped.
