Here are the simple rules for who can apply to the EMJMD STEPS Master’s Programme.
Academic Background
- You must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Your degree should be at least three years of university study and equal to 180 ECTS credits. If your country uses a different system, your qualification must be recognized in your home country and under European rules.
English Language
Since the program is taught in English if it’s not your first language you must show you are at CEFR level B2 or higher.
You can prove this with:
- IELTS Academic: Overall score of 6.0, with no part below 5.5.
- TOEFL iBT: Minimum total score of 79, with at least 17 in writing, 18 in reading, and 20 in speaking.
- Pearson PTE Academic: Overall score of 55, with no section lower than 51.
Extra Rules for Self-Funded Students
If you are paying for your own studies (not on a scholarship), you must also:
- Have at least a high 2:2 degree (or the equal in your country) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- A closely related subject may also be accepted, as long as it is recognized by the University of Nottingham.
